Amelia Adamo has done journalism for and about women for half a century and founded two of the largest women's magazines in Sweden today, Amelia and M Magazine.

When she founded the magazine Amelia in 1995, she wanted to do journalism that showed the bright side of life.

She tells that in SVT's new documentary series.

- Most journalists are looking for the accident.

They want to tell about a horrible childhood or an outbreak of war.

But I stand for my smiles, says Amelia Adamo.

90s feminist criticism of Amelia

The magazine Amelia criticized heavily in the feminist debate of the 90s.

Many believed that it contributed to appearance fixation for women and to reinforcing stereotypical gender roles.
