The poems of the creators participating in the second evening of the 19th edition of the Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival painted an aesthetic painting, embroidered with nostalgia, joy, life, soft language and human feelings.

The poems were varied during the evening, which was hosted by the Palace of Culture in Sharjah the day before yesterday, and embraced seven male and female poets from different countries of the Arab world, in the presence of the head of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, Abdullah bin Muhammad Al Owais, and the Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the department, Muhammad Ibrahim Al-Qasir, and a group of writers, intellectuals and participants. Those interested in poetry.

The readings were inaugurated by the Moroccan poet Muhammad Areej, who won many awards, and he recited a number of poems, and among the verses of the poem “Al-Mazhariya”: “On behalf of my conscience as it ascends.. and about poems that paper does not catch.. for fear of my mother’s face while he guards me.. at night when I sleep Insomnia messes around.”

The Tunisian Adam Fathi sang poems that reflect a unique memory and experience, and interacted with the audience with his poem “A Message to the Mills of Don Quixote”, and among its verses:

“Ark fire in the shadow of every book, or horses in the wind without riders.. and seas of our ink or our blood stretched from beneath us like spears.. so we are between fear, despair, hope, joy, and depression.. we are all embracing a well beside it, and around it is a swarm of wolves.”

The Lebanese Aseel Saqlawi read several poems, and she said in a text that touches the heart: “There are two scars in his heart, hunger and fear, so pass to me kindly, O pain. It expands.. I cry for your green spikes, how did they pass like those who passed and have not yet returned.. I am the dark southern woman, this blackness hurts me, if it were to fade.

Emirati Amal Al-Sahlawi translated a group of feelings through the verses of her poems and the beauty of her vocabulary that she prolonged, and from what she read: “Try to interpret you .. in the way the poet justifies his poem .. so that he will not be stigmatized by her sorrows, so the water of the ocean fills my mouth .. and I know that I am winning in my battles .. But I lost the war.. I had to postpone you.

As for the Mauritanian, Muhammad al-Mamoun, he presented poems with various titles, including: “On an old wall.. I lean on an archiver. Shards burn in me.. Where the range of sorrow is a blackboard.. And when the range overflows, I wash it with nostalgia! The froth has appeared on the beach!.. there poetry wears out every whisper, and in the first place is the position of revealing alone.

While the Jordanian Hussam Shdeifat chose to sing more than one poem, including: “Oh, the miserable share,” and among its words: “Have you forgotten your face, or have you forgotten its features?

Take what is left, the mirrors are wounded.. and you packed (your bag) that you weighed down with everything from nostalgia.. yesterday.. and you went without roads, and your tears are amber and your footsteps are not a trace.. so let the smell.. behind you the world is crying an old beloved and in front of you is the mourning of the world ».

Ahmed Antar concluded the evening, and recited a poem bearing many meanings of loyalty, love, and sincerity, entitled “The Neighing of Tired Horses,” which he wrote to lament the Sudanese poet Muhammad al-Fitouri, including: “It remains, even if our bodies are absent from the pits. And we were not angels, but fell short of our comprehension of human beings.. This life we ​​analyzed in its minutes.

Sheikha Al-Mutairi signs "a comma, two points"

The Emirati poet, Sheikha Al-Mutairi, signed her book, "Comma, Two Points", during a signing ceremony within the activities of the Sharjah Arabic Poetry Festival, in the Palace of Culture, in the presence of a number of poets, critics and media participants who flocked to acquire the book.

Attendees and critics praised the collection, which they considered an addition to the poetry library, especially since Sheikha Al-Mutairi is one of the distinguished young figures in this field by issuing several different collections, including: “Marsa Al-Wadad” in 2009, “For nostalgia is the rest” of 2014, and “Oh my most and my least” 2016. .
