In 2023, the SNCF decided to modernize its "large families" card.

Since Monday, ordering this discount card is done directly on the Internet via a dedicated portal, reports

.

It is therefore no longer necessary to download the registration or renewal form and send it by post.

The stated objective of the SNCF is, through this dematerialization, to increase the number of beneficiaries of this subscription: today, only 20% of eligible people request it.

A smaller map and new graphics

As a reminder, the so-called “classic” version of the “large families” card, valid for 3 years, concerns even blended families with at least three children under the age of 18, in full or shared custody.

The "lifetime" version, valid for 6 years, is for adults who have had or raised at least five children.

Beneficiaries of the "large families" card always benefit from reductions on their train tickets, of the order of 30% with 3 children, 40% with 4 children, 50% with 5 children and 75% with 6 children or more.

Other discounts at various brands are also available.

From this Monday, the application fees only cost 18 euros (compared to 19 euros before).

The format of the card will decrease and its graphics will also evolve.

The only technical consequence: the renewal service will be interrupted until the end of January 2023. Cards expiring in this period will remain valid until the portal is put back into service, specifies the SNCF.
