At present, various preparatory work before the start of construction, such as project land application approval and bidding design, are being pushed forward. It is planned to start construction on the whole line in February this year.
According to the Guangdong Provincial Department of Water Resources, the Guangdong Water Resources Allocation Project around the Beibu Gulf is a backbone project of the national water network, one of the 150 major national water conservancy projects and one of the 55 major water conservancy projects that the State Council will accelerate in 2022.
According to the approval document, the project is composed of the Xijiang water source pumping station, the main water delivery line, and the water delivery main line. The average water diversion from the Xijiang River for many years is 1.632 billion cubic meters; the total investment is 61.456 billion yuan; the total construction period is 96 months.
