[Explanation] Recently, Lin Min, the squadron leader of the Criminal Investigation Comprehensive Brigade of the Liuzhou City Public Security Bureau in Guangxi, was comparing fingerprints in front of the computer. There was a waist pad on her seat.

Due to sitting in front of the computer for a long time, Lin Min suffered from cervical and lumbar spondylosis. She got up from time to time and continued to work standing up.

  [Explanation] Lin Min's work content is to compare the fingerprints extracted from the scene with the fingerprints in the database to provide technical support for the detection of the case.

Since modern information technology can only select a certain number of candidate fingerprints from the database for comparison, but cannot fully achieve accurate comparison, the technical criminal police who are engaged in fingerprint comparison work like Lin Min have to use their eyes to find the difference between the fingerprint and the fingerprint. Find the "exit" to solve the case in the "fingerprint maze".

  The difficulty of this work is that it tests our eyesight, endurance and perseverance, because we often cannot produce results in a short period of time when we compare a fingerprint, which requires us to compare people and have a high degree of concentration (and ) Patience can make us sit down and compare each fingerprint quietly.

  [Explanation] When it comes to criminal police, what comes to people's minds is usually the "tough guy" image of them arresting criminals on the spot.

In contrast, 40-year-old Lin Min has straight bangs and fair skin.

As a technical criminal police officer, the 16-square-meter office is her "main battlefield".

Lin Min has been engaged in trace inspection for more than 17 years, and has retrieved and compared fingerprints more than 70,000 times so far. Her rich work experience has given her a pair of "sharp eyes".

  [Explanation] For each round of fingerprint comparison, Lin Min has to press the mouse hundreds of times, while focusing his eyes and energy on the computer screen.

She often exchanges experience with peers to improve work efficiency.

She said that with the advancement of science and technology, there are more diverse detection techniques. The frequency of using the traditional detection technology of fingerprint comparison has decreased compared with before, but it still plays an irreplaceable role.

  [Explanation] During the battle against outstanding crimes at the end of the year and the beginning of the year in Liuzhou City, Lin Min used professional technology to provide key clues for the detection of theft cases involving people's livelihood.

When the trace inspection work helps the case to be solved efficiently, Lin Min can get a sense of accomplishment from it, so she never thought of leaving this post.

She has been on the job for nearly 20 years, and she has no concept of rest when facing holidays.

  Not being able to accompany family members on holidays is a normal state in our entire police industry. My wife and I are both police officers. We rarely accompany our families, and we can’t take our children out to play during holidays, so the children are a little dissatisfied with us, and we also feel that Feel guilty about her.
