Global Village launches a new award to celebrate the "Creators' Month"

The Global Village, one of the most important cultural parks in the world and the first family destination for culture, entertainment and shopping in the region, launched yesterday the "Young Directors Award", in celebration of the "Creators' Month", in cooperation with the "Bloom World Academy".

The competition provides an opportunity for two of its participants to win a full scholarship worth more than one million dirhams during their studies at the leading "Bloom World Academy".

Global Village invited UAE students, between the ages of five and 14, to show their skills in filmmaking, by participating in the competition organized under the slogan "My Most Wonderful World".

Participants must make a short film or video that tells their story, or the story of someone they know, and how they made the world a better place for everyone, or sheds light on their current contributions to building a promising and brighter future.

The hero of the film can be any participant, such as a friend, teacher, family member, or someone in the community who has made a positive impact or constructive contribution, big or small, to making the world more wonderful.

The Executive Director of Marketing at the Global Village, Jackie Ellenby, said: “We, in the Global Village, are certain that the diversity we live in in our world opens wide horizons for creativity and innovation.

And since January is the month of global creativity, we decided to celebrate the talented students here in the UAE, which we considered self-evident.

She added, “We realized that (Bloom World Academy) is the ideal partner for launching the first edition of the (Creators’ Month) event, given its shared passion for creative thinking with us.

We are excited to see the creativity of the students participating in the competition, which will inspire us all to participate in building a more wonderful world.”

The competition is divided into two age groups, for students between the ages of five and 10, and those between the ages of 11 and 14.

The competition will be judged by a prestigious jury that includes in its membership: Saeed Al Janahi, Executive Director of Operations at the Dubai TV and Film Production Committee, John Peel, Director of Bloom World Academy, actress and presenter, Nayla Osha, Emirati director, Nahla Al Fahad, and broadcaster Helen Farmer.

The committee will review all entries to select the winners.

The finalists will be invited to attend the premiere of their films, which are inspired by the activities of international cinematic films, at the “Young Theater” in front of thousands of guests of the Global Village, as one winner will be announced from each age group to be crowned with the Young Directors Award, which includes scholarships. In the "Bloom World Academy", the value of which exceeds one million dirhams.

The conditions for registration for the “Young Directors Award” competition include: The film must be filmed and created by the participant, and its duration should not exceed four minutes.

Participating films can be recorded by mobile phone, video camera, or any other device, and the competition is open to citizens and residents of the UAE between the ages of five and 14 years. The deadline for submitting applications for participation is the first of next February, and all participants must upload their clips. on YouTube as an “unpublished” video, and the link to the film on YouTube must be shared with Global Village in the online online application form:
