This came during the organization of the Dubai Media Council yesterday, a workshop during which it hosted an official delegation of senior government communication officials in the friendly Republic of Serbia, at the headquarters of the Media Office of the Government of Dubai, and within the framework of the delegation's visit to the country, and within the close cooperation relations between the two sides in Various areas of government development and modernization, including the exchange of experiences and best practices in the field of government media and strategic communication.

She said that the Dubai Media Council is keen to translate the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to confirm Dubai's continuous approach to building bridges of cooperation and strengthening constructive partnerships in various fields, while the media sector is among the first sectors that exemplify this approach.

For their part, the members of the Serbian delegation expressed their deep appreciation for what they listened to during the workshop about the roles and contributions of the Dubai Media Council and the Media Office of the Government of Dubai, and the integrated work system, which they considered an inspiring model in the field of strategic communication and government media, stressing their keenness to activate cooperation between the two sides in this regard. For her part, the Director of the Dubai Press Club, Dr. Maitha Buhumaid, shed light on the most prominent activities through which the club continues to strengthen Dubai's ties with the various components of the regional and global media scene, and build more bridges of cooperation with the most prominent media institutions in the region and the world, foremost among them Arab Media Forum and the Arab Media Award.

She reviewed other major initiatives of the club, including the UAE Media Forum, the Arab Social Media Pioneers Summit, and Dubai Budvest.

While the Director of the Strategic Media Affairs Department, Alia Al-Theeb, reviewed the main tasks of the department, which branch out to cover many goals, foremost of which is the confirmation of the position of the Dubai Government Media Office as the first and reliable source of news and strategic information related to the Emirate of Dubai and its wise leadership, in parallel with the development of executive frameworks that ensure building and strengthening Cooperation links with various local, regional and international media institutions, and providing all aspects of assistance that enable it to carry out its tasks in an easy and effective manner with regard to covering the emirate's news and the most prominent developments in it, especially the great achievements it achieves in various fields.

During the workshop, the Director of Brand Dubai, Shaima Al-Suwaidi, gave an explanation about the media office's keeping pace with the Dubai government in its method of work with the global development in communication, which has become focused in a large part on employing soft power as an effective means of strategic communication, especially in light of what it enjoys. After the workshop, the Serbian delegation visited the Dubai Media Corporation, as it inspected its news center in Dubai Media City. The delegation was received by the Executive Director of Media Content, Salem Balyouha, the Executive Director of Commercial Affairs and Partnerships, Abdul Wahed Juma, and the Head of the News and Publishing Center, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Bayan newspaper, Saud Al-Darbi. Sarah Al-Jarman, Head of TV and Radio Channels, and Khadija Al-Marzouqi, Director of Digital Media.

The delegation listened to an explanation about the Dubai Media Corporation and its various media sectors covering all areas of radio and satellite broadcasting, publishing and daily newspapers, as well as the digital media platforms by which the Corporation keeps pace with the global development in the field of communication.

Huge community

The delegation visited the headquarters of Dubai Media City, and followed a presentation about the Free Media Zone and what it includes of a growing community of major global and regional companies that are headquartered or regionally. The number of Free Media Zone companies is estimated at about 4,000 companies, followed by a huge community of tens of thousands of Media professionals and specialists in various activities related to the media sector and its feeding fields.
