In conjunction with the "Nanakusa no Sekku" festival on January 7, the zoo in Toyama City gave capybaras, which are rodents, an open-air bath filled with the seven herbs of spring.

At the zoo "Family Park" in Toyama City, we have five capybaras that inhabit the temperate regions of South America.

On the 7th, an event was held to put seven spring herbs in the hot water after eating the seven herbs rice porridge and wishing for a year of good health.

When the keepers put in things like suzuna and suzushiro, the capybaras ate them deliciously while soaking in the hot water.

On the 7th, the first day of the 3-day weekend, many families visited and enjoyed the cute capybaras.

A 7-year-old boy said, "It was really cute when he was eating."

Kaede Tauchi, a zookeeper, said, "I gave them various seven herbs in hopes of good health. Children who eat in the bath and children who only eat outside the bath are divided into two types depending on their personality. I want you to pay attention to it," he said.
