On October 14, 2022, Hu Xinyu, a student from Zhiyuan Middle School in Qianshan County, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, disappeared from the school, which aroused widespread concern in the society.
On January 7, the local police reported that based on the existing information, it was pointed out that Hu Xinyu had left the school on his own, and he is still doing his best to search for it.
The local police stated that after receiving the report on October 15, they immediately organized an investigation and search, and found no trace evidence of Hu Xinyu's murder, suicide, or accident in the school.
On November 20, a special joint work team composed of public security organs at the provincial, city and county levels was established to carry out investigations.
According to the police report, the school where Hu Xinyu disappeared is located in the industrial park in the southwestern suburb of Hekou Town, Qianshan County.
The perimeter of the school wall is about 1 kilometer, and there are 4 entrances and exits, one of which is closed for a long time.
There are two small parks in the campus, Sui Garden and Zhangyuan. Among them, Sui Garden covers an area of about 4 mu. The south side is the campus wall, and outside the wall is a forest and hills of about 589 mu. The east side of Sui Garden is adjacent to Hu Xinyu’s dormitory building.
In addition, when Hu Xinyu disappeared, there were a total of 119 surveillance cameras installed in Zhiyuan Middle School, of which 109 were distributed in 3 teaching buildings, 6 dormitory buildings and other buildings, and 10 were distributed outside the school's main entrance and east gate.
