On the JR Yamanote Line, the section from Osaki Station to Ikebukuro Station on the outside will be suspended for two days on the 7th and 8th due to the construction work at Shibuya Station.

In other sections, the number of services will decrease, and it is expected that 530,000 people will be affected, so JR East is calling for the use of alternate transportation and travel with plenty of time.

JR East has been proceeding with the improvement work of Shibuya Station since 8 years ago (2015) due to the redevelopment project of Shibuya. Then, we will carry out construction to unify the outer and inner platforms.

Due to this, the outer loop of the Yamanote Line will be in the section from Osaki Station to Ikebukuro Station via Shibuya Station, and all 540 trains will be suspended from the first train on the 7th to the last train on the 8th.

In other sections, the number of trains has also decreased, and the section

from Ikebukuro Station on the outer loop to Osaki Station via Tokyo Station is about 30% to 40% of the normal daytime, and

▽ from Ikebukuro Station on the inner loop via Shibuya Station. The section heading to Osaki Station reduces to about 70% during the day.

On the 6th, ahead of the construction work, equipment was brought to the side of the tracks at JR Shibuya Station and preparations were underway, and plans for suspension and reduction of flights were repeatedly announced.

According to JR East, it is expected that 530,000 people will be affected, so the number of Saikyo lines that run parallel to the suspended section will be increased, special trains will also run, and alternate transportation will be implemented on Tokyo Metro and Toei Subway. It is done.

JR East has set up a dedicated telephone contact point and website to encourage passengers to use alternate transport and allow extra time for travel.
