Five months after being the victim of a large-scale cyberattack, the Center Hospitalier Sud-Francilien (CHSF) in Corbeil-Essonnes (Essonne) wants to strengthen its IT infrastructure.

The establishment has announced a 12 to 18 month project, carried out in collaboration with the Regional Health Agency (ARS), reports

.

The goal?

Make this infrastructure "more resilient" and "more efficient" so that it is "capable of resisting" cyberattacks and limiting their consequences, indicates the CHSF.

Indeed, the protection of the hospital information system is important since it gathers the financial information as well as the medical data relating to the patients of the establishment.

In the long term, the hospital center also wants to revise its storage policy.

Access to all information system applications will also be improved.

The creation of this new computer system is estimated at 4.5 million euros, including 1.8 million euros devoted to the renewal of sensitive and obsolete equipment.

The ARS will participate to the tune of 1.7 million euros, indicates the CHSF in its press release.
