When the company passed the process evaluation, there was a project that needed to butt two 3 mm thin plates together for flat welding, which required extremely high standards for formed welds.
The plate is made of stainless steel, which dissipates heat slowly and has a thickness of only 3 mm. If less than half of the plate is welded, it will be deformed and a perfect weld cannot be formed.
Everyone has no good ideas for the time being, and many people have started to operate, but they have not been able to complete it.
After careful study of this project, Jiang Junchen added a carbon steel plate with good heat dissipation performance behind each of the two plates to speed up heat dissipation and thicken the plate so that it is not easy to deform.
He then sandwiched the test piece with a slightly smaller plate to allow clearance for the weld.
Relying on a deep understanding of material properties, after a day and a half of trial and error, Jiang Junchen overcame the difficulty with his self-made tooling.
