JAXA has not clarified the details of the final selection, but the previous selection test was a "closed environment test" in which people lived in groups for a week at a JAXA isolation facility in Tsukuba City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and NASA = National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Interview tests were conducted by active astronauts.



Successful applicants are scheduled to be announced next month at the earliest, and it will be the first new Japanese astronaut in 14 years since three astronauts, including Kimiya Yui, were selected in 2009. .
