The Ministers of Health and Transport were traveling to Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport this Sunday morning to present the control system for travelers from China.

Among the measures put in place, the wearing of a compulsory mask on planes or even random tests on arrival.

François Braun, Minister of Health and Clément Beaune, Minister of Transport, were traveling to Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport this Sunday morning.

A visit as the world increases controls for travelers from China.

After the United States, Japan, Canada and several European countries including France, Australia in turn announced this morning negative tests for Covid, mandatory to enter the country.

Random tests performed

At Roissy, François Braun and Clément Beaune came to present the new health system for all travelers from China.

As of today, wearing a mask becomes compulsory again on planes during the flight and on arrival at the airport.

Random tests are carried out at the exit of the planes on a few passengers.

About fifteen people per flight were tested this Sunday morning on the two planes coming from China.

It is this screening center that the Minister of Transport and the Minister of Health visited at the airport.

"The device we have here makes it possible to verify that passengers arriving from China are not positive or, if they are, to know what the variant is", explains François Braun.

"The Italians tested an entire aircraft two days ago and the identified variants are currently known on French soil and we come across them regularly."

François Braun wants to be reassuring, but the appearance of new variants will be scrutinized very closely.

According to the minister, the test device must still be precisely defined, even if it will be PCR tests.

A third of passengers per flight could be tested, he claimed.

"We don't understand why they only test us"

Aurora arrived from Beijing at 11:30 this morning.

She is one of those people who have been tested and she does not understand these measures very well.

"When we were told this, we weren't happy, because visitors arriving from other countries are not tested. We don't really understand why they only test us. But each country has its own strategy, we respect", explains the traveler.
