Egyptian media revealed a love story that brought together the late Brazilian legend Pele and the great Egyptian artist Zubaida Tharwat in the seventies of the last century.

The late Zubaida Tharwat, in one of her interviews, spoke of a heavy-caliber surprise associated with the Brazilian star Pele, noting that she had a story of love and admiration for her.

Tharwat said in the television interview that took place in 2005 that the interview that brought them together was in the seventies of the last century in the State of Kuwait, and despite taking pictures with him, she said that she did not know him because football was not a priority for her.

Zubaida Tharwat said that Pele was chasing her wherever she was, and offered her marriage and travel with him to Brazil, but she could not understand him because of his lack of proficiency in English or Arabic, stressing that she was looking at him without understanding what he was saying.

She added that Pele wore a collar of roses during a party in Kuwait, and that he expressed his great admiration for her, and after her return to Cairo, he called her, but she did not know the credibility of his love for her, and confirmed that the relationship had not developed after this call.

Brazilian legend Pele passed away yesterday evening at the age of 82 after a long struggle with cancer, after his health deteriorated during the past few days.
