A temporary control zone (ZCT) has been set up by the Val-de-Marne prefecture.

It is located within a radius of 20 km around the precise location where two seagulls were recently found dead in Lake Créteil.

Analyzes were carried out on Monday, December 19.

According to Actu Val-de-Marne, they made it possible to determine that the birds were carriers of avian flu.

In order to prevent the spread of the "highly pathogenic" avian influenza virus (HPAI) in the department, several security measures have been announced.

Among them: the prohibition to gather birds together, the inventory of all the places of detention of poultry or captive birds or even the strengthening of biosecurity measures among the owners of such animals.

As a reminder, this virus does not represent any risk for humans.

But this infectious disease, which affects more and more farms in France, is highly contagious for birds.

The protective measures put in place by the prefecture of Val-de-Marne also impact the Hauts-de-Seine, notes Actu Hauts-de-Seine.

A temporary control zone has been set up in 31 municipalities in the department.
