[Concurrent] Hong Kong youth Wang Zhongyou

Hello everyone, this is Wang Zhongyou from Guangzhou Huoxing Fusion. He is from Hong Kong and now lives in Guangzhou.

I am a rapper and have settled in Guangzhou for six years now.

[Explanation] In Panyu, Guangzhou, Wang Zhongyou, a "post-95" Hong Kong youth, built his own music studio. The brand "Huoxing Fusion" he founded with 3 classmates has grown to 18 members and is well-known in Guangzhou.

When I was young, I didn't particularly like singing. I hated music. I thought singing was very noisy.

It wasn't until later, maybe when I grew up, that I suddenly became enlightened one day, and felt that singing was quite fun.

[Explanation] Wang Zhongyou's rap music contains Mandarin, English, and Cantonese, and has rich forms of expression. This is related to his childhood experience, and it also made him, as a Hong Kong native, speak "uncommon" Mandarin.

When I was young, besides Hong Kong, I lived in Shenzhen, Zhongshan, Cambodia, Guangzhou, Chongqing, and many other cities.

Meeting different friends may have a more or less influence on my whole pronunciation.

[Explanation] Wang Zhongyou said that boys like cool things, and the same is true when they first fell in love with rap.

In order to improve his strength, he has participated in various competitions since he was a student, and what impressed him most was the cross-strait university campus singer invitational competition on behalf of Jinan University.

As far as the competition itself is concerned, I don’t think it’s particularly important anymore. What’s more important is that during those few days we were there, so many young people came from different places, including Taiwan, mainland China, and Hong Kong. They have become my very good friends so far, and they all make music. I really think this experience is very, very good for me!

It is a room that receives the different thoughts of different and excellent music-making people from all over the country, and then it will open your eyes.

It turns out that there are so many outstanding people in the country, and I may still need to work hard, so I can't feel complacent.

[Explanation] In recent years, Wang Zhongyou's music journey has ushered in a bright moment, from winning big and small championship titles to participating in the "China New Rap" finals for two consecutive years.

But after the peak, the young strugglers also experienced the confusion of repeated defeats.

I will fall into deep doubts, whether it is because I am old that people look down on me, or because of my personality, there is no topic, or it is because my strength is not enough.

So during that time I was very depressed.

  【singing】

How to escape, did I miss the beat last time, did I not hold my breath this time, I don’t want to start all over again, I don’t want to fall here and resign myself to my fate, peeling off layers of my body, and slowly dispelling my disappointment Gather up your fists and climb up to the top of the mountain, don't fall anymore I want to stand.

[Explanation] Now, this young musician chooses to take root in Guangzhou and devote himself to the career he loves. He is currently busy making his new album.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Guangzhou, the soil of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area makes this big boy a duck to water.

I am a living child who grew up in the Greater Bay Area.

Then the entire Greater Bay Area, especially in Guangzhou, first of all, it can absorb a lot of fresh culture, it can accommodate a lot of niche culture, or a growth of young people.

It retains many traditions of Cantonese itself.

For example, you can find a lot of old Guangzhou things in Xiguan and Yongqingfang.

I think this city is very interesting.
