"I tried heroin, morphine and cocaine": Louis Bertignac cash on his consumption of hard drugs

Louis Bertignac has nothing more to hide.

At 68, the artist decided to play the card of sincerity during his passage in the

podcast of doctor Laurent Kalika.

In order to make listeners aware of the dangers of drugs, the former guitarist of the

group explained that he himself had already tested "everything". 

“I tried a bit of everything”

"I tried a bit of everything, all the hard drugs to start with, but like tried, just once each," says Louis Bertignac first.

"I tried heroin, morphine and cocaine in shooting. I was 17, I was in first or final year, I don't know anymore", continues the artist who assures that he wanted "to know what it was really about" because he had a "scientific mind".

"It was not to cling to me, just to test the thing. And in fact, there are none of these three tests that I liked", he explains. 

“I was still afraid that it would damage me”

At the time, Louis Bertignac loved "already cigarettes, and cannabis, just after I got into it".

"It was usual. I went to my friends, we smoked a firecracker. It had become a habit," he says in the episode of the podcast.

A few years later, the guitarist rediscovered the heroine.

"It was a friend who introduced me to heroin by snorting and with small doses. And there, it scared me less and I admit that I liked the feeling it gave me", he confides.

Louis Bertignac couldn't bear to be "high" during concerts

Louis Bertignac ended up using this hard drug on a regular basis.

"I think the quarter gram easily lasted me a week, even ten days. It was very small quantities, small lines, when my friends made a big line of ten centimeters, mine was a centimeter because that I was still afraid that it would damage me”, he explains to Laurent Kalika. 

If the temptation to use drugs behind the scenes of his concerts with

was immense, Louis Bertignac did not give in.

"When I was with

at the time when I was really into heroin, I was never going to repeat stoned, and when I went on tour, it was precisely the dropout. I used again when the tour was over and that I was returning to Paris, if not never", reveals the artist.

"During Telephone, each departure on tour was an opportunity to pick up. So during the first two/three concerts, I was sweating a lot and I was a little feverish, like when you pick up," says Louis Bertignac, who stopped heroin, cannabis but also cigarettes.

The star has now taken up electronic cigarettes.

Alas, his drug use had adverse effects on his health.
