Prior to receiving instructions from the Nuclear Regulation Authority regarding the extension of the operating period of the nuclear power plant, the Nuclear Regulation Authority had asked the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the promoter of the matter, about the status of its consideration. After clarifying what happened over the course of time, he expressed the recognition that it is necessary to consider whether to keep records of interactions with administrative agencies in the future.

In response to the government's policy to consider further extending the operating period of nuclear power plants, the Nuclear Regulation Authority instructed the Nuclear Regulation Authority to consider a system to confirm safety in October this year. It was revealed this month that the Regulatory Agency had heard the status of consideration from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and had prepared a system for reviewing the system.

On the 27th, the Regulatory Agency had seven meetings with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry since the end of July, and in August, the agency began considering the system, and explained the response to the Ministry of the Environment, which is the main ministry. In doing so, it was revealed that the status of consideration had been leaked.

Regarding the meeting with the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the Regulatory Agency said, "There was no discussion or coordination, and there were no problems in terms of independence and transparency." Regarding that, he said, "There was something like a sense of belonging, and I lacked a sense of tension."

In addition, from the perspective of transparency, he acknowledged that it would be necessary to consider whether to create and publish interview records for interactions with government agencies that are not currently required.
