It turns out that only three prefectures publish how club activities are evaluated in public high school entrance exams, the criteria and allotted points for all high schools.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology conducted a survey on the evaluation criteria for club activities in the entrance examinations of public high schools nationwide and the publication status of allotted points, and announced the results on the website on the 27th.

In the survey, only three prefectures, Aomori, Chiba, and Hyogo, answered that they "published all schools" regarding evaluation criteria for club activities, and 40 prefectures answered "not published."

The remaining four prefectures, Iwate, Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Shimane, did not include club activities in their grade reports.

Of the three prefectures that answered "yes," Aomori Prefecture publishes the evaluation criteria for each school on the prefecture's website. And, it showed the allotment of points such as experience as a department manager.

On the other hand, many of the prefectures that answered "not publicized" said that they "use it as a reference when making comprehensive decisions."

Regarding high school entrance exams, the government's panel of experts has pointed out, ``It is difficult to see the evaluation criteria for club activities, and some students cannot leave clubs for fear of being disadvantaged due to excessive expectations or taking exams.''

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology plans to notify boards of education nationwide of the method used to evaluate club activities, as indicated in the implementation guidelines for entrance examinations.
