The Pyrénées-Orientales can be satisfied with their emergency accommodation arrangements.

In any case, this is the opinion issued this Saturday by Jean-Christophe Combe.

The Minister of Solidarity, Autonomy and People with Disabilities spoke on the subject during the official visit to a day care center (LAJ) located in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), tells France Bleu Roussillon .

In terms of emergency accommodation in the department, he felt that "things are rather well organized".

The Minister was particularly pleased with the effectiveness of the collaboration between the various associative actors and the State.

He wanted proof of this in the limited number of people in need to whom no solution is offered.

By way of comparison, Jean-Christophe Combe mentioned the many families still homeless throughout the country.

He also recalled the existence of 200,000 places made available by the government nationwide.

In the Pyrénées-Orientales, two thirds of homeless people who contacted 115 received an accommodation offer, indicated the integrated reception and orientation service (SIAO) 66. The department has some 330 places.
