In an interview with "Parisien" Monday, December 26, Mimie Mathy explains why she accepted that her salary for the series "Joséphine guardian angel" drop drastically.

The actress's fee has been reduced so that the show can continue.

"I didn't want it to end," says Mimie Mathy.

Mimie Mathy sacrificed herself for the good cause.

Interviewed in the columns of Le

 Parisien

on the occasion of the broadcast of a new episode of

Joséphine guardian angel

on Monday December 26 on TF1, the actress, star of the cult series on the front page, revealed that she had accepted a huge drop in salary.

"I lowered my fee by a third"

"We could no longer do as in the days of Roger Hanin, who received huge fees, which I never reached elsewhere. Me, I didn't want it to stop, I wanted to continue working with all these people, so I lowered my fee by a third, which remains very comfortable", confides Mimie Mathy, who received 250,000 euros per episode in 2013. Launched on TF1 in 1997, Joséphine guardian angel has long beaten audience records, bringing together no less than 11 million viewers during a prime in 2006, for example.

But, the audiences have crumbled over time.

For the past few years, the series has "only" gathered a little more than three million viewers with each new unreleased episode.

It is because Mimie Mathy agreed to lower her salary that the series still exists today.

She had already mentioned her financial sacrifice in 2019 on RTL.

"For the series to continue, I lowered my fee, rather than putting an entire team out of work. I still live very well, but I have greatly lowered my fee: it has been halved", she assured the time.

The star then ranted: "What I find surprising is that the salary of an actor like me who is getting old is shocking. Whereas a footballer who has not played as Neymar,

and whose transfer costs a blind.

[…] While he has twice set foot on the ground.

[…] There, it does not shock anyone“.
