At the Nagoya Prison, from November last year to August this year, 22 prison guards repeatedly assaulted three inmates. A total of 462 cases were confirmed, including 107 cases of assault such as harassment and 355 cases of inappropriate treatment such as making the victim kneel on the ground.



Members of the committee expressed their opinions that there may be a problem not only with individual prison officers, but also with the organization's supervisory system.



The committee will visit Nagoya Prison next month and interview staff.
