Elis Monteverde Burrau writes a poem about the new word of the year

The new word list contains 35 words that have been coined or become more common during the past year.

The list compiled by Språktidningen and the Language Council says something about the past year, and how new words are formed and borrowed into Swedish.

For Morgonstudion, the poet Elis Monteverde Burrau was commissioned to quickly write a poem based on his favorite words from this year's list of new words.

Words like "edgelord" and "accelerationism" appeared among his favorites.  

- I like anglicisms and unexpected mutations, when you put two words together that are a bit unexpected like edgelord and accelerationism.

I think Barbiecore and false majority are beautiful, he says.
