Early in the morning of the 27th, eight pieces of rubber believed to be part of the tires of the aircraft were found on and around the taxiway at Narita Airport, two of which weighed more than 1 kg.

There was a report that part of the tire was missing on a Jetstar Airlines aircraft that departed from Narita Airport on the 24th of this month, and the Narita Airport Company is investigating the relationship.

According to the Narita Airport Office of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Narita Airport Company, around 5:00 am on the 27th, the taxiway of Narita Airport and a nearby green belt were covered with rubber pieces that are believed to be part of the tires of the aircraft. It was found by a worker who was inspecting the road.



Eight pieces of rubber were found, the largest weighing 1.5 kilograms and being 2 meters and 25 centimeters long. It means that it falls under the largest category.



According to the Narita Airport Company, on the 26th, Jetstar Airlines reported that a part of the tire on the right rear of the Boeing 787, which departed for Cairns, Australia on the 24th of this month, was peeled off after an inspection after arrival. Therefore, on the morning of the 27th, a detailed examination found a piece of rubber.



The Narita Airport Company is investigating whether the fallen rubber pieces belonged to this aircraft.
