The last missing person was recovered on Saturday, the state news agency Bernama reported, it was a boy between the ages of seven and twelve.

His body was found in a sleeping bag more than a meter below the surface.

The campsite in Batang Kali, about 50 kilometers north of the capital Kuala Lumpur, was hit by a landslide in mid-December.

The incident happened not far from the tourist-popular Genting Highlands, a holiday region known, among other things, for its peak resorts.

61 people could be rescued, some were injured.

According to the authorities, the operators of the campsite did not have the necessary license.

The cause of the landslide could have been, among other things, an underground water flow near the campsite, according to an investigation by the authorities.

About 450,000 cubic meters of soil had slipped off.
