Although some of the survey methods have changed, all of them increased from the previous survey conducted in 2018 and reached a record high.



The average out-of-school expenses, such as cram schools, sports, and cultural activities, were 247,582 yen for public elementary schools and 368,780 yen for public junior high schools.



Based on this survey, the total amount of study expenses up to the third year of high school was calculated, and it was 18.38 million yen for private schools from kindergarten to high school, and 5.74 million yen for all public schools.
