At least two people have been shot dead and four others injured in Paris.

This was announced by the public prosecutor on Friday afternoon in the French capital.

A man was arrested, the newspaper "Le Parisien" reported with reference to police circles.

The shots were fired at a Kurdish cultural center in the tenth arrondissement of the French capital.

The Paris police were initially unable to provide any information about the case.

The broadcaster BFMTV reported that the man was around 60 years old.

"There were seven or eight shots, there is panic," an eyewitness told AFP. Police urged people to avoid the area around Rue d'Enghien in the 10th arrondissement. It's a small street with many people Restaurants, not far from the Grande Boulevards with their famous department stores.
