On Thursday, December 22, VTsIOM published the results of an annual survey of Russians about what events and heroes they remember in the outgoing year.

The Russians named the People's Artist of Russia Oleg Gazmanov as the best performer.

14% of citizens voted for him.

Earlier, the singer has repeatedly stated about the possible imminent end of his career.

The last time such information appeared in the summer of 2021.

However, the artist continues to perform, and a significant part of his activity was the support of military personnel participating in a special military operation.

Gazmanov gives concerts in hospitals in front of wounded soldiers.

In July, the artist was awarded the Order of Merit for Culture and Art.

Second place (13% of respondents) was given to the singer, known under the pseudonym SHAMAN (Yaroslav Dronov).

The artist's career began in the first half of the 2010s.

In 2022, the artist's popularity has increased markedly thanks to his patriotic songs.

In February, SHAMAN released the song "Let's Get Up", dedicated to the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, and in July, his song "I'm Russian" and the music video for it were released.

The YouTube video has garnered more than 2.6 million views in just three days.

Some music experts consider the artist to be the voice of a new generation.

Philip Kirkorov, who ranked second in the ranking last year, and first the year before last, did not make it into the top 3 in 2022.

This year, the artist appeared in the media primarily as a participant in various scandalous stories.

In April, Kirkorov gave a concert at the State Kremlin Palace for his own anniversary.

In one of the numbers, he climbed a Christian cross with a girl “crucified” inside him and performed a dance on it.

This performance drew condemnation from the religious audience.

Also, the scandalous antics of the artist and his appearance on stage in Alma-Ata in transparent leggings were actively discussed on the network.
