Pay to share your account?

This is what the Netflix streaming platform is planning, which would like to put an end to password sharing.

For several years, she let it go, but things should change in 2023, according to information from the

Wall Street Journal

 relayed by Phonandroid.

“The widespread sharing of accounts between households taking place today undermines our long-term ability to invest in and improve our service,” the platform explained.

This plans to charge a supplement to users.

A test was carried out in several Latin American countries, with a payment of around 3 dollars, or nearly 2.80 euros, for sharing a password.

Encourage to subscribe to a subscription

The experiment is based on a verification code to be entered repeatedly for all out-of-home use, until a monthly payment is put in place.

It could be that the system is the same in France, with an increase of around 3 or 4 euros.

Netflix wants to encourage users to subscribe to their own subscription.

To achieve this, it decided in particular to offer an offer with advertising.

The monthly rate is 5.99 euros.
