It might sound a bit cheesy, but 2022 isn't just the year the war in Europe started.

It is also the year in which life returned.

The first year without a lockdown, a year in which restaurants and discos were allowed to open again without restrictions and nobody had to go to the guest list again with the red pen before private parties because of the restrictions.

The mood is reflected in fashion, and looking back, it can be said that the dark weeks of the pandemic were quite a handbag-free time.

Where else should you go with your bag?

For a walk?

To the supermarket?

So it's no wonder that the most frivolous of all handbags, so small that you could almost slip into the diminutive, the handbag, is now returning with all the more force.

The baguette is back, the ultimate party bag.

A bag for life, complete with a "Sex-and-the-City" narrative.

The scene is legendary: Carrie Bradshaw is mugged on a lonely street corner.

"Give me your bag," shouts the attacker.

And Carrie replied: "It's a baguette." The Fendi bag suddenly became famous in 2000 - and "Sex and the City" had lost its reputation as a series for brand fetishism at the latest.

Now Fendi is reissuing the old acquaintance, including sequins and also in pink.

The bag is trendy, as you can see from the fact that it has many faces today: it can also be simple, like the model in midnight blue from APC, which is optically as reduced as everything from the Parisian brand.

That might even lead to some real baguette action.

Put a baguette bag with a stick under your arm and, like the Parisians, steal a bit of baguette on the way home, i.e. nibble on bread.

But the baguette can also be sportier, for example if it is made of soft yellow nappa leather, as is the case with Dior.

The model is called Nomad, but follows the baguette principle in terms of shape and size.

So does the Louis Vuitton bag.

With its heavy clasps, it is reminiscent of a small suitcase.

Who knows where the evening will end, in the party year 2022.
