In Ukraine, temperatures drop well below 0°.

In a context of war and electricity shortage, many Ukrainians find themselves destitute.

In order to help them, Stéphanie Marinier and Gérard Méligne, two retirees living in Créteil (Val-de-Marne), collected donations, tells

Le Parisien

.

They organized the departure of a convoy last Friday to transport them to Lviv (Ukraine), 1,900 km away.

In total, 37,000 euros of equipment spread over 13 pallets will be transported in this way.

Sleeping bags, generators, toys or external solar batteries will reach the Ukrainians.

The two friends managed to collect all this equipment thanks to the general interest association Mécénat 100%.

Among the donors, we find the Grand Orient of France, Rotary, companies as well as the city of Créteil to the tune of 3,000 euros.

The transport operation will be financed by a European grant.

The two Cristoliens had also already welcomed Ukrainian refugees to their home last March.

Today, 43 people from this country are hosted by the city of Créteil.
