Forecast Winter begins with light rains in the northwest of the peninsula and rising temperatures in various parts of the country
The astronomical winter, which begins this Wednesday at 10:48 p.m. peninsular time, will be warmer than normal in Spain
after an autumn with little rain that has been the hottest in the historical series
, with an average of 16.3 degrees.
At a press conference to present the seasonal forecast for winter, the technician from the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) Rubén del Campo explained that, specifically,
"October has been 3.6 degrees warmer than normal"
.
Regarding rainfall,
the average rainfall on the Peninsula has been 152 liters per square meter, 24% less than usual
, so it can be considered "very dry".
The Aemet spokeswoman, Beatriz Hervella, has assured that
the winter season will be "hot, probably the most"
and will be dominated by "a drive between high and low pressures" due to the simultaneous influence of "an anticyclone in North Africa and a squall near Ireland".
