For 12 hours it was possible to vote on Elon Musk's resignation from Twitter via a post he posted himself.

In the post, Musk promised that he would follow the results of the investigation, but so far no resignation notice has been given.

The vote comes after Twitter faced widespread criticism for restricting users from linking to competing social media sites, such as Facebook and Instagram.

No answer about successors

About 20 minutes into the vote, Elon Musk answered the question of whether he had selected a successor.

In a new post, he wrote "nobody wants the job that can actually keep Twitter alive."

There is no successor”.

Closed journalist accounts

Earlier in December, several American journalists who monitor Twitter alerted that their accounts had been temporarily suspended.

Among other things, the account @elonjet which followed in real time the location of Elon Musk's private plane.

Accounts belonging to a couple of journalists from CNN, The New York Times and the Washington Post have also been temporarily suspended.

Something that has attracted great criticism for affecting freedom of expression.

The suspended journalist accounts were then reinstated after Musk held a vote on Twitter where the majority voted for the accounts to be allowed back.
