The Orsay site of the Nord-Essonne Hospital Group has announced that it will be forced to close its pediatric emergency department during the winter school holidays.

Support is therefore no longer assured and it will be possible again on January 2.

The interruption of reception is due to a lack of staff, explains BFM Ile-de-France.

The service is particularly short of pediatricians.

He could count on 6.5 positions for specialists in child pathologies a few months ago.

But only 2.5 are now available.

Many doctors have indeed left the hospital.

Many of them have chosen to establish themselves on their own.

Evening, weekend and school holiday closures have also been practiced for two years.

During the closure period, the nursing staff assigned to the pediatric emergency department of Orsay will work in the same specialty, but at the Longjumeau hospital (Essonne).

Their presence will make it possible to take care of a greater number of patients.

David Ros, the mayor of Orsay, spoke of "a permanent welcome" on the spot.
