The literary critic and Expressen's editor-in-chief, Victor Malm, thinks that the literary year 2022 has been "a little underwhelming".
He believes that although Swedish authors have released new novels, few of them have written their best books.
- There is actually only one book that I really, really, really want to highlight and that is Athena Farrokhzad's "The Year of the Donkey".
It is a big step in her writing.
It is funny, clever and formally complicated and shows a different way forward for poetry, says Victor Malm.
