Report in Abidjan by Ange Nomenyo.

Omar Sy is in Dakar to present in preview this evening "Tirailleurs" which will be released in theaters on January 4 in France and January 6 in Senegal.

The actor plays a Senegalese father enlisted with his son by France during the First World War.

The film is a tribute to the unknown Senegalese Tirailleurs of the Great War - nearly 170,000 men were enlisted between 1914 and 1918. For Omar Sy, it is more about telling their story - a first on the big screen - than denouncing the broken promises and the injustices of France towards them.
