Dubai Municipality is preparing to launch the seventh edition of the Hatta Honey Festival, which will run from December 27 to 31, with the participation of more than 50 beekeepers from different emirates.

The festival aims to support the bee honey production sector at the state level, and comes within the framework of keenness to provide various means of support for the local industries that the Hatta region is famous for, and contributes to opening up more promising opportunities for its residents.

The Director General of Dubai Municipality, Dawood Al-Hajri, said: “The development of Hatta and the development of its economic opportunities are among the main goals on the agenda of the Dubai government, at a time when the region represents one of the distinguished tourist destinations in the emirate, in light of its unique characteristics and features.”

He added: «Dubai Municipality, through the festival, embodies its commitment to strengthening the Hatta region, as it is one of the most prominent events aimed at supporting local economic activities in the region. In addition to displaying and promoting various varieties of Hatta apiary products, in a way that supports their economic returns.

The festival coincides with the "Dubai Destinations" campaign, organized by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Government Media Office.

The Hatta region constitutes an important axis and a major destination of attraction in Dubai, with its natural and heritage components, and the authentic customs and traditions it preserves for the people of the Emirates in general. In Hatta, honey production is one of its oldest industries, as it is famous for producing the finest types.

The festival receives visitors during its stay from nine in the morning until eight in the evening in the Hatta Hall of Dubai Municipality.

The activities accompanying the festival this year include: the productive families market, the honey samples corner, and the children’s games corner, and a set of valuable gifts will be distributed to visitors.

The festival is a platform for visitors that gives them the opportunity to learn about the various varieties of honey, and the characteristics that characterize each type. Over the past seasons, the festival witnessed a remarkable turnout from the public, to be one of the most prominent festivals and events that attract visitors from all over the Emirates and outside the country.

The Hatta Honey Festival was launched for the first time in 2017, within the framework of development projects in the Hatta region, with its historical and heritage importance, and in an effort to transform it into a major tourist destination to attract visitors from inside and outside the country, and to improve the quality of services provided to the people of the region and visitors.

This year, the festival coincides with the second edition of the "Hatta Cultural Nights", which begins today and continues until the first of next January, to celebrate the ancient Emirati heritage and the various components of the creative scene in the Hatta region, and what it reflects of the authenticity of this rich heritage in its extremely diverse content.
