Amber Hurd makes the difficult decision..This is what you pay for Johnny Depp

The American actress, Amber Heard, announced that she will end the appeal proceedings in her defamation lawsuit against Johnny Depp, according to which she agreed to pay one million dollars to her ex-husband.

Amber Heard wrote on Instagram: "After much thought, I have made the difficult decision to conclude an agreement," without specifying the financial terms.

The 36-year-old actress had filed an appeal against her ruling in June, which stipulated that she must pay $10 million to the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star, who was also ordered to pay her $2 million.

The actress added, "I made this decision after I lost faith in the American justice system, where my public testimony was a topic for entertainment, and social media gave material for deliberation."

Johnny Depp's defense team, 59, welcomed the conclusion of this agreement.

"We are officially pleased to close this painful chapter for Depp, who has made it clear throughout this path that his priority is to uncover the truth," said attorneys Benjamin Chiu and Camii Vasquez.

The two lawyers pointed out that "the unanimous decision of the jury, and the resulting verdict in favor of Depp v. Hurd, are still valid," according to Agence France-Presse.

They added that "the $1 million payment - which Depp has pledged to donate to charity, which he will already do - demonstrates that Heard acknowledges the conclusions" of justice.
