Good news on the air front!

The staff of the airlines Air Antilles and Air Guyane, subsidiaries of the Interregional Express Airline (Cairo), based in Guyana, have lifted their strike notices which ran from this Saturday to Thursday, announced their unions.

These two companies operate mainly short-haul connections between overseas territories but also with third countries in the Caribbean region.

According to the National Union of Airline Pilots (SNPL), Cairo has "given guarantees to the representatives of the SNPL", in particular "as regards the improvement of their salary conditions and as regards the establishment of a timetable for the negotiation of a new company agreement concerning pilots".

The threat of social conflicts during the end-of-year celebrations weighs on several companies in France, in particular the cabin crew at Air France and French Bee.

The pilots of Corsair, according to the company, and the cabin crew of easyJet, on the other hand, gave up stopping work.

Notice of strike lifted

Consequently, the Cairo section of the SNPL “has decided to lift the strike notice initially filed from this Saturday, December 17 to Thursday, December 22, 2022”, announces the SNPL in a press release.

The notice was filed in mid-November.

The SNPNC-FO union, which for its part had called on the hostesses and stewards of Air Antilles to strike on the same dates, indicated that a "memorandum of understanding to end the conflict" had been signed with management on Friday evening. .

“As a result, the SNPNC-FO has taken the decision to lift its strike notice from December 17 to 22, 2022,” added the organization representing cabin crew (PNC).

"We hope that the rest of the negotiations, namely the establishment of a PNC company agreement, will be conducted in a fair, serious and respectful manner", specified the SNPNC-FO, warning that it would remain "attentive to the good compliance with the commitments made by the management”.

Otherwise, "we will reserve the decision to take any action to assert our rights", he warned.
