Brothers from other places rushed to help, opened a special line for medicines, and started the night dispatch mode. The postal express industry——

Enrich transportation capacity to ensure the distribution of medicines and people's livelihood materials

Since December, the national postal and express delivery companies have received more than 400 million parcels per day, and the industry is rapidly returning to orderly operation.

Recently, due to the impact of the epidemic in the Beijing area, the number of couriers on duty has dropped significantly in stages, which has put a lot of pressure on the normal operation of the industry.

To this end, the State Post Bureau and the Beijing Municipal People's Government have formulated specific work plans to urge postal express outlets to open as much as possible, do everything possible to supplement couriers, protect key areas, emergency medicines, and important supplies.

The latest data from the State Post Bureau shows that on December 14, major express delivery companies in Beijing delivered a total of 10,179,900 express items, an increase of about 10% from the previous day.

On December 15, major express delivery companies in Beijing collected and delivered more than 15 million pieces, of which more than 10 million pieces were delivered.

The whole industry plans to dispatch more than 3,000 people to assist Beijing to enrich the transportation capacity

"At present, the most critical thing is to solve the problem of periodic personnel gaps." The relevant person in charge of the Market Supervision Department of the State Post Bureau said.

To this end, the State Post Bureau guides enterprises to follow the principle of "four batches" and pay close attention to supplementing labor.

That is: through the sinking of enterprise management personnel and support from other areas in the city; recruiting a group from labor outsourcing companies; quickly deploying a group from outside Beijing to Beijing; returning to work after the quarantine is over.

The whole industry plans to dispatch more than 3,000 people to assist Beijing to enrich the transportation capacity.

  1000!

On the afternoon of December 14, the first batch of more than 1,000 courier brothers mobilized by JD.com from across the country arrived in Beijing to provide targeted support for express delivery and other work in Beijing.

They will gather within 24 hours through voluntary registration.

  10 batches!

Cainiao announced that it will transfer 10 batches of couriers from Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Anhui, Chongqing and other places to take chartered flights to Beijing to increase capacity.

At present, the first 4 batches of couriers who arrived have been put into work.

The industry and enterprises are moving, and the results are beginning to show.

On December 14, the number of employees in Beijing's postal express industry increased by more than 6,000 compared with the previous day, of which 5,229 were temporarily recruited and outsourced, and 660 were deployed from other places.

At the same time, the postal express industry announced the opening of the night delivery mode, which ensures the timely delivery of medicines and people's livelihood materials by extending the service time.

"Six to ten" has become the norm.

Cheng Ang, a courier from Beijing Yuantong Chaoyang District Guomao Branch, said that at present, he has to cover the delivery area of the original three people, and the delivery volume has soared from two to three hundred pieces per day to more than 800 pieces.

"'From six to ten' is commonplace," Cheng Ang said.

Rehabilitation means returning to work and returning quickly.

On December 15th, the lowest temperature in Beijing reached minus 11 degrees Celsius. At 2:00 in the morning, Zhongtong Beijing Tongzhou Canal outlets were still brightly lit.

"At the most serious time, nearly 20 couriers at the branch took leave of absence at home. At present, 80% of the couriers have returned to work." Dong Xinlu, a courier at the branch, said that everyone returned to work immediately after recovery, and took on high-intensity work as soon as they returned.

"Next, we will guide courier companies to encourage courier boys to increase their employment rate and recruit courier boys through salary increases and performance rewards," said the relevant person in charge of the Market Supervision Department of the State Post Bureau.

Open a special line for medicines to ensure a stable supply of anti-epidemic materials

Recently, the demand for emergency protection such as medicines and antigen reagents in Beijing has increased by about 300% compared with usual times.

To this end, the postal express industry has also introduced corresponding emergency plans.

Open a special line and give priority to delivery.

On the 16th, Cainiao opened a special line for priority delivery of medicines in Beijing, giving priority to the delivery of packages containing medicines, masks and other protective and daily necessities, such as packages in AliHealth green boxes and Tmall supermarket yellow tape packages.

At the same time, more than 700 Cainiao stations in Beijing have increased the delivery time at night by 3 hours, and provided free storage and home delivery services at the end.

If the user has an urgent need for a medicine package that arrives at the station, he can directly contact the head of the station where he belongs to give priority to delivery.

Launch smart cars and increase delivery methods.

JD Logistics said that about 100 smart express vehicles in normal operation in Beijing can not only provide contactless delivery services for the community, but also connect and transport between the community and the express delivery site, reducing the work intensity of the courier brothers.

The smart express vehicle will also cooperate with JD Health to provide overnight delivery of medicines, and deliver medical supplies to consumers faster and more safely.

Liao Lingzhu, member of the party group and deputy director of the Beijing Postal Administration, said that for large-scale communities with relatively concentrated delivery, trucks will also be organized to deliver directly from the distribution center to the community for delivery to improve efficiency.

In view of the problems existing in the current end-of-delivery services, the Beijing Municipal Postal Administration has made it clear that it will strive to achieve "results in two days and return to normal in a week."

That is: within two days, all the existing express delivery backlogs will be cleared; within a week, the gaps in express delivery personnel will be filled as soon as possible, basically meeting the normal delivery needs of the city.

According to the monitoring data of the State Post Bureau, as of now, the postal express industry in Beijing has added more than 7,000 people through temporary recruitment and field deployment, and the on-the-job rate has increased to nearly 90%. The overall situation of postal express terminal services has improved significantly.

As of the 15th, the backlog of express mail has been basically resolved.

"We believe that through the joint efforts of everyone, we will be able to solve the problem quickly and effectively meet the delivery needs of the masses." The relevant person in charge of the Market Supervision Department of the State Post Bureau said.
