Emirati publications transferred by "publishers" to "Jeddah International Book"

The “Emirati Publishers Association” is participating in the activities of the current year’s session of the “Jeddah International Book Fair”, which will conclude tomorrow, December 17th, as it provides visitors to the exhibition, through its “platform” project, an opportunity to view the publications of 37 Emirati publishing houses, in line with its vision in Introducing the UAE publishing industry, and representing its members in various international exhibitions and events.

At the exhibition, the association displays 335 new titles that vary between literary, scientific and educational books, as well as translated books and books for children and young adults, all of which reflect the diversity in the interests and specializations of Emirati publishing houses, and their constant endeavor to issue books in line with the interests of their readers of different age groups.

The association's pavilion at the exhibition witnessed the signing of a number of books, in light of the great turnout of visitors from different age groups, to see the publications of participating publishing houses through the "platform", which aims to enhance the presence of Emirati publishers in the publishing arena at the local and Arab levels.

Rashid Al-Kous, Executive Director of the Emirates Publishers Association, said: “The association’s participation in (Jeddah International Book Fair) comes in line with the association’s vision to empower Emirati publishers and represent them in various exhibitions through the (platform) project, which provides multiple outlets for publishing and distribution that contribute to promoting The book industry in the United Arab Emirates, and supporting the Emirati cultural scene through a variety of books and publications that reflect the creativity of Emirati writers and facilitate the access of books to the largest possible segment.

The Jeddah International Book Fair, which is part of the “Book Fairs” initiative in the Kingdom, returns after a two-year hiatus due to the “Covid-19” pandemic, as it is held in the “Superdome Jeddah”, with the participation of more than 600 publishing houses, and many Activities and events include lectures, cultural workshops and seminars in which a group of experts and specialists participate, poetry evenings and theatrical performances, in addition to some educational and training events for children.
