Slaughterhouses not equipped

Of the 430,000 poultry, there are 21 duck farms.

Turkeys, laying hens and broilers are also affected.

All must be euthanized.

Problem in Maine-et-Loire, slaughterhouses are not equipped to euthanize ducks and turkeys.

A large part of the poultry goes mainly to the neighboring department of Vendée.

Since the start of the epidemic in the department, 24 million euros in compensation have been paid to affected breeders.
