Event planning executives at the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation, Kaltham Al Shamsi, told «Emirates Today» about the event programs that will start on December 15, and will continue until January 29, 2023, and about the renewal in it, that the “Dubai Eighties” event is considered one of the latest events that have been added. To the festival schedule, it will be held in “Last Exit” in Al Khawaneej, from December 23 to January 28 of next year.

And she noted that the organization of this event comes from looking at what Dubai lacks this year within the festival’s activities, explaining that “most of the events tend to cover aspects related to looking into the future and innovations, but in the end it is necessary to return to the past, the beautiful time, and how life was.” Simple and education simple ».

Al Shamsi explained that the event was organized and a heritage market was organized, with the aim of urging the new generation, especially the millennial generation and Generation Z (born in the period 1981-2010), to restore memories from this period through graffiti drawings by local artists, an old video game area, and classic cars.

Al Shamsi stressed that the most prominent expected event that will return in this session, for the third time, is the display of light drones, which are inspired by the retail offerings during the festival with two completely new shows under the title “Dubai Shopping Festival” and “The Future of Dubai” inspired by Vision 2040. The show, which is the longest in the Middle East and Africa, carries a rich and enjoyable experience that blends innovation and technology. The audience will see the most beautiful performances to the sound of the music of a group of songs composed especially for it, some of which were recorded in studios of international companies.

Regarding the integration of the festival's activities with the activities of the most beautiful winter, Al Shamsi noted that, inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, who launched the Most Beautiful Winter campaign, which highlights the best destinations in Dubai, he works The Dubai Shopping Festival also highlights many destinations through its activities, including what will extend to Hatta, where the program will present a group of shows for emerging talents.
