The Tokyo metropolitan government has revealed that it aims to open the extension of the Tama Urban Monorail from Higashiyamato City to Mizuho Town in the mid-2030s.

This was made clear by Governor Koike at a general question at the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly on the 8th.



Regarding the extension of the Tama Urban Monorail, a draft plan has been finalized to extend a section of about 7 km from Kamikitadai Station in Higashiyamato City, which is currently the northern terminus, to Mizuho Town.



Among the wards and cities in Tokyo, Musashimurayama City, which was the only city without a railway station, will have at least four stations.



According to the Tokyo metropolitan government, the start of construction is expected to start in three years at the earliest, and the construction will be completed in 2035, 13 years later, because the environmental assessment procedure has started. .

Governor Koike said, "In the only city without a train station in Tokyo, convenience will be dramatically improved, and the vitality and appeal of the Tama area will be further enhanced. We will continue to improve the public transportation network in the Tama area. I will go," he said.
