Publishers said that the "Al Dhafra Book Festival" in its renewed version has become a prominent addition to the agenda of social and cultural events that celebrate literature and writers, and combine heritage, culture and effective activities that suit all family members.

The festival, which concludes this Friday evening, is witnessing the activities of the third and updated edition of it, which was held under the slogan “Watering and Narrating Al Dhafra”, for three days in Madinat Zayed Public Park in Al Dhafra Region, with distinguished participation from Emirati publishing houses, especially specialized houses in the field of children’s and youth literature. , which sought to present the book in a new form that suits the children's need for entertainment, by merging it with games and competitions, in addition to presenting interactive forms of books such as the speaking book, the electronic book, and others, which is in line with the strategic objectives of the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language in establishing a reader community interested in knowledge. .

Ahmed Al-Sayed, director of the "Lu'lu' House for Publishing and Distribution", which is concerned with children's books, said that the festive activities in the new edition of the "Al Dhafra Book Festival" revived societal interaction with the book, and thus increased the demand for books and publishing houses.

Pointing out that the new idea in organizing cultural events, and the support provided by the Abu Dhabi Center for the Arabic Language, contributed greatly to stimulating the publishing sector in the UAE, and restored it to a rapid recovery after the Corona pandemic.

He explained that as a publishing house specialized in children's and young adult literature, they aim to instill positive values ​​in children, and focus on preserving the Arabic language, using simple methods such as graphics and an interactive book. It reached the long list of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, and it encourages preserving and caring for the heritage of the ancestors.

Moamen Hafez, Executive Director of My Library for Publishing, agreed with him, pointing out that this edition of the Al Dhafra Festival witnessed a remarkable increase in turnout, thanks to the various activities included in the event programme.

He stated that publishing houses specialized in the field of books for children and young adults have to develop themselves and the content they provide in order to keep pace with the rapid development taking place in the world, and in order to reach the target audience and be able to fulfill its mission in creating an educated and aware generation.

Pointing out that the house presents in the festival a wide variety of publications of interest to the family and the child, and a package of educational teaching aids that contribute to the delivery of information to the child in a clearer way.
