The Aguttes house will auction an exceptional object this Friday: a guitar that belonged to Marie-Antoinette, reports
Le Parisien
.
Passionate about music, the Queen of France played and organized concerts at the Petit Trianon.
She would have offered the so-called "boat" guitar to the Marquise de La Rochelambert-Thévalles, one of her closest confidantes.
Designed around 1775 by the Parisian luthier Jacques-Philippe Michelot, the instrument has been kept in the Marquise's family through the generations.
The latter now wishes to return it to French cultural heritage.
👑 We can't think of Marie-Antoinette's Versailles without imagining its festivities.
However, what other element than music to punctuate court life?
