The NHK Disability Welfare Award ceremony was held at the NHK Broadcasting Center in Shibuya, Tokyo.

The NHK Disabled Welfare Award was established by the NHK Public Welfare and Cultural Organization and NHK to make the experiences and activities of people with disabilities, their families, and supporters widely known.

In the 57th year, 8 works were selected from 518 works, and the highest award was "Welcome! To my world" by Mitsuaki Kezuka (17), a third-year high school student in Tochigi Prefecture. Chosen.

In this work, Ms. Kezuka, who has one of the developmental disorders, "Autism Spectrum Disorder," introduces her own high school life and her feelings in a commentary format.

Her inability to express her thoughts is realistically portrayed, and while facing her developmental disability, I came to believe that it is important to listen to her inner voice and live in her own way. The story is spelled out.

Mr. Kezuka, who was the youngest ever to win the award at the age of 17, said, "I was able to know that I could convey my world through my work. I would like to continue sending messages while learning various things."

Selected works will be compiled into a collection of works, which will be distributed to libraries nationwide, and works such as the Grand Prize will be introduced on the website of the NHK Public Welfare and Culture Corporation.
