In 2021, as Ma Yanhe's team published scientific research results on artificially synthesized starch in the international academic journal "Science", "carbon dioxide synthesized starch" has become a hot topic in all sectors of society.
Ma Yanhe recalled that in 2018, the team discovered that starch was produced in the reaction system, but they were not in a hurry to publish a paper, but wanted to "go further and lower the cost".
In Ma Yanhe's view, scientists should not blindly pursue the publication of their own articles, but should really consider what they can do for the country.
In the future, the team will realize the large-scale application of "carbon dioxide-synthesized starch", and some problems can be overcome. "The future is actually not far away."
