The documentary “Harry and Meghan” will be accessible worldwide on Thursday December 8 and could be, according to the extracts already made public, “explosive” for the British royal family three months to the day after the arrival on the throne of Charles III.

In this six-episode documentary, the first three of which are broadcast on Netflix from 8 a.m. (GMT), the "Sussex", as Harry and Meghan are called, promise to give their version of the facts, of the fairy tale lived by the youngest son of the new king and the late Diana until the shock break with the monarchy.

"No one knows the whole truth. We know the whole truth," Harry, 38, says in the trailer.

"When the stakes are so high, doesn't it make more sense to hear our side of the story?" adds Meghan, 41.

In the trailer, we see the enthusiasm that the couple had aroused until their marriage and, suddenly, a black screen.

“And then everything changed,” comments Prince Harry.

The couple left the UK in early 2020 for California, after Harry renounced all royal obligations.

Their unpopularity grew steadily in an already largely hostile British press and among defenders of the royal family.

“There is a hierarchy in the family”, denounces Harry.

"There are leaks, but also invented stories (...). It's a dirty game", says the prince again.

He also denounces "the pain and suffering of women who marry someone within the institution".

Apart from these excerpts, little information has circulated.

According to the Times, the first three episodes released on Thursday focus on the love story between Harry and Meghan, a mixed-race American actress.

The second and third episodes take them into "controversial territory", with their feeling of not having been supported by Buckingham Palace.

The final three, the following week, will focus on their decision to leave the royal family.

A documentary that "seriously threatens the royal family"

A year and a half after their shock interview on American television, in which they accused a member of the royal family of racism, the hatchet is therefore far from being buried.

In his first address as king, the day after the death of Elizabeth II, Charles III had yet mentioned his youngest son and his wife, sending them all his "love as they continue to build their lives abroad ".

The documentary "seriously threatens the royal family", says monarchy expert Richard Fitzwilliams.

"It could be explosive. (...) Charles III has been on the throne for only three months."

The specialist has chosen his camp: he describes the couple as "hypocritical".

“On the one hand they say they want privacy and on the other look what they come out with!”

Prince Harry must also publish his memoirs entitled "The Substitute" in early January, again promising his share of embarrassing revelations.

The British press does not spare the Sussexes, whom they oppose to the future King William and his wife Kate, willingly presented as the perfect couple.

"Diana would be appalled at the harm Harry is doing to her brother," the Telegraph headlined on Thursday.

Smiling and glamorous, Harry and Meghan made a public appearance after the documentary trailer was released on Tuesday night in New York to receive an award.

"Do you put money before family?", "Are you hurting your family, Harry?" asked reporters on the red carpet.

Without getting an answer.

The question now is whether and how Buckingham will react.

"If they don't say anything, they will seem quite weak. But they can't answer point by point either," said Richard Fitzwilliams.

Faced with accusations of racism, Elizabeth II had a now famous response in the United Kingdom: "Memories may vary."

On December 15, the day of the release of the last episodes of "Harry and Meghan", the royal family will unite: they will be gathered at Westminster Abbey for a concert of Christmas carols organized by the Princess of Wales, Kate.
